Legal Question in Criminal Law in Iowa
what is an order setting hearing. is this were the judge can throw out the case.

The order should specify the subject of the hearing. I.e. whether it is a pretrial conference or a hearing on a motion, or something else. If you do not have an attorney, and if you have not filed any motions to dismiss the case, then it is highly unlikely that the case will be dismissed at any hearing.
