Legal Question in Criminal Law in Iowa
Pedophilia Problem
I have a problem with children. I have two boys of my own and was abused sexually as a child by my father.
I have recently been having desires regarding my small boys and those of my friends. My coworker, whom I have known for years, has the same problem. His wife had to close down the day care center they opened together in their home after only one month of operation due to his desire to have sex with little girls. He has been abusing both his daughters.
Now I wrote a confession to my employer that I like to expose myself to little boys, but I wrote it on a coworker's notepad. He turned it in to my employer but they failed to act on it. It was my cry for help. I am only 25 years old and can be treated for pedophilia before I get caught molesting children.
Should I get a lawyer? I confessed to my coworker I wrote the obscene note. Should I turn in my old friend of ten years for abusing his girls?

Re: Pedophilia Problem
I do not know whether you need the services of an attorney at this point. If you are fired from your job you have no recourse as this is an at will employment state. If you act out your fantasies, however, you will have need for the services of an attorney sooner or later.
However, if what you say is true, you and your friend are in need of substantial mental health intervention at the earliest opportunity.
I cannot advise you to implicate your friend or not. That is a matter for your own conscience. You of all people should know first hand of the destructive effects of sex abuse on a family.
