Legal Question in Criminal Law in Iowa
Can a person be charged with 2nd degree theft of motor part/accessories, if the car was his own. But the person had no insurance and an expired license plates? Even though the person had insurance on that same car once before?

I sense that there's more to this story. If the automobile was your own property and you can prove it with a title and it was not in the process of being repossessed by a creditor or attached for some other reason or it was impounded and you broke into the impound lot, or it was not something you bought off craigslist that later proves to be stolen then no.
But it's not up to me. What does the trial information say you did?
