Legal Question in Criminal Law in Iowa
phone calls from detective
My teen daughter is being alleged to have done something and I keep getting msgs to call a detective. On the last msg I was threatened that if I don't call her back by Friday she's taking this to juvenile court. Am I obligated to call and volunteer information? This is something my daughter did not do, but I read that I am not going to do any good defending her innocence to the police and that they will use every bit of info I give them AGAINST her. I don't know what to do and am making myself sick over this.

Re: phone calls from detective
Sounds like you've got a choice to make, don't you? If you think your daughter didn't do something why are you afraid of talking to the police?
