Legal Question in Criminal Law in Iowa
prior guilty plea
approx 12 years ago i plead guilty to simple misdemeanor theft(when i was 19). this is now affecting my job searching. Is this possible to have removed from my criminal history?

The answer to that is unfortunately no. There is no expungement in Iowa. If you got a deferred judgment you may be able to restrict access to the information but it will still be in the NCIC system.
It is, however, remote in time and you can use it as the basis of a great success story about how far you've come. People like success stories.
