Legal Question in Criminal Law in Iowa

I am on probation for two seperate charges. I was given a probation violation on both for non-payment of fines which total about $1200. In total on those I have paid around $200 so far. On one which is a serious misdemeanor my probation officers reccomendation was one year extended probation and on the other charge which is an aggravated misdemeanor for driving while barred he put down that my reccomendation would be made at the hearing. I have not been in any trouble in over a year besides this non payment of fines. I am working and have passed all u.a.'s and been to all of my court dates meetings etc. What should I be expecting to get for the violation on the driving while barred for non payment? Jail? Half way house? or any others. I would like your honest opinion to know what to expect.

Well, you're going to have to explain to the judge why you haven't paid. If you're working that might be kind of a hard sell.

I suggest that you scrape up the money and pay the fines before the hearing or make a substantial down payment to show you're not just conning them. If you pay, you probably won't go to jail. There are no guarantees in life but it would improve your chances.
