Punishment for a simple misdemeanor is a fine of 65 to 625 dollars and/or 30 days in jail or less. If it is a first offense and your record is otherwise clean you may be eligible for a deferred judgment. You are entitled to a court appointed attorney and I would recommend that you obtain counsel to assist your transition through this process.
