purchasing a firearm
will i still be able to purchase firearms after being arrested for carrying a conclead weapon that was in my truck which isnt a felony in the state of iowa?

That's controlled by federal law. It depends on what you were convicted of if anything. Remember the federal definition of a felony is if you could get more than a year in jail. An aggravated misdemeanor in Iowa nets you two years and thus can be considered a felony which bars one from owning a firearm.
