Legal Question in Criminal Law in Iowa

Do i have to put a simple misdemeanor(IWOA) on my job application in the state of Iowa? I plead guilty and wish I wouldn't have. because I don't feel I did anything wrong but it's over and done with. It has been over 5 years and I no other legal records except this. I still think it's preventing me from getting a job in today's Job Market. Any Advice?

If you omit it or worse check the "no" box it will likely show up in a background check, and if it doesn't and they find out later that you checked the "no" box or answered no, you'll probably be terminated. A lot depends on the nature of the offense as well. Or, they might just keep it in pocket so if they're thinking about laying someone off because business is down they can get rid of you and avoid paying unemployment. Also, your conviction might affect your ability to be bonded or to operate their vehicles because of the enhanced insurance requirements required in such cases.

That's a non inclusive list of downsides. It would be helpful if you could provide the exact wording of "the question" on the job application.

I'm not familiar with the abbreviation "IWOA" so you'll have to be more specific. What were you charged with? What code section of the code?
