Legal Question in Criminal Law in Iowa
A Rent Rebate check from the National Treasury in the amount of, $758.00 came under someone else's name to my apartment and I forged their signature and had a friend deposit it into their account. What can happen to me if I get caught?

You can be charged with theft and forgery, and be compelled to pay restitution. In addition because it was a government check you could have federal problems as well. Your friend is also stupid for getting involved in this mess. I suggest you get $758 and pay the person it belongs to and hope that that is the end of it.
