Legal Question in Criminal Law in Iowa
how do you seal a criminal record? My husband and I have both been charges with a simple misdemeanor of interfering with official acts from a misunderstanding when our son was arrested. He has type 1 diabetes and he was shoved head first into bleachers resulting in bruises and scraps. We went to out Mayor and almost a year later we were charged officially. Now my husband is finding it very difficult to find employment. We have asked the judge to have it expunged with no results were told to get a lawyer to help. Anything you can tell me. I have also contacted the clerk of court but of course they had no answers.

Unfortunately you cannot seal a criminal record in Iowa except for Public Intoxication which can be expunged and juvenile court records. That's the way it unfortunately is.
