Legal Question in Criminal Law in Iowa
sexual offenders
I have a registered sex offender living with my mother in law and have found out his charges but i dont understand what it means. In the state of Iowa it says criminal sexual abuse / victim cant concent/2nd. Then in Kansas it says sexual abuse in the 3rd degree. I was wondering if you could explain exactly what those charges mean.

Re: sexual offenders
It is impossible to accurately guess the exact fact pattern tht led to the conviction you described. But, I think it means he was over seventeen and she was under 16.
Of course, this could have been aplea agreement from some much worse facts. It is impossible to predict. If you are concerned, you should ask him.
Good Luck
