Legal Question in Criminal Law in Iowa

My sister-in-law is in mediation with a photographer over breach of contract on wedding photos. During the mediation process, the photographer accused me of threatening her over the phone, stating that I said "if someone put out a memory book like this, they should be shot". She says I was inferring violence against her. Now, of course, I don't recall saying any such thing. I recall our conversation as congenial, and followed up with an email of everything we discussed.

Can I be arrested on her accusation? Guess this is how it pays to help someone out, huh?

Yes you could be arrested. I've represented clients charged under similar scearios. It'll be up to the discretion of the officer and county attorney on whether to file the charge. The officer is likely to contact you first to hear your side of the story. You'll have to decide whether to talk with them.
