Legal Question in Criminal Law in Iowa
I need to know if the following statement made by a 45 year old woman towards a 16 year old girl in a facebook account would be considered a threat or a conditional threat:
"And I've been learning more about the "Jane Doe" incident. That girl is a lying bitch and if her parents are going to spread rumors about my son then they better be prepared for the Hell they are going to be paying! Yes-this IS a promise to wreck your daughter's life just as she has wrecked "John's".

If you are concerned that this may be a threat, you should file a complaint with your local police department. They would then investigate all of the underlying circumstances and determine whether they believe a threat was made and whether charges should be filed.
