Legal Question in Criminal Law in Iowa
What is the statue of limitation in Iowa if someone buys alachol for a minor. Also how long can a person be charged for underage drinking is there a statue of limitation on that as well.
For example there is a picture on a social media page of an underage person drinking 4 years ago but now they are a legal age and statue of limitaion has run out. Can they still get in trouble since there is photo evidence they drank as a minor?

A misdemeanor charge has a limitations period of 2 years and a felony is 3 years, unless the person left the state for a period of time which would stay the limitations period during their absence.
