Legal Question in Criminal Law in Iowa
Warrants
I have a son currently serving time in an Iowa prison he has been there since the year 2000, on meth charges and there is a warrant out on him in Des Moines county that was posted not long ago and it was a list of all warrants that are currently not served so am wondering if there is a statue of limitations on something like this and what to do??

Re: Warrants
There is no statute of limitations on warrants. They will operate as a hold on him and when he is released from the Department of Corrections he will be transported to whatever county wants him. You did not say it but there is the possibility of combining his charges into one large package when he reaches wherever he's going. My guess is that if the charges are relatively minor they can be disposed of in this manner.
