Legal Question in Criminal Law in Iowa
I am just wondering if it is common practice in the state of Iowa to allow a defendent to continue their criminal court cases over & over again until it finally gets dismissed. My former son-in-law (daughter is deceased) did this with an OWI & is now being prosecuted for 1st degree theft in district court for a federal case for taking money from social security that he was not entitled to. I have really lost all my confidence in the judicial system as a law abiding taxpayer. We were just recently forced to let him have custody of my granddaughter & now he is living off of her - no job, living with his mother, still doing drugs. Is justice ever served in Iowa?

that's sort of a rhetorical question.
