Legal Question in Criminal Law in Iowa
Ya hi, I was charged with public intox and paraphernalia 9 months ago and I just received the court date papers in the mail. So my question is, I have heard that if I don't receive the papers within 3 months the charges can be dropped is this true??

You should talk with an attorney in your area. Its difficult to give you a precise and definite answer from your questions because I would want to know if you were arrested, if you saw a magistrate, if they issued orders at that time which scheduled court, why the delay of 9 months and so on. An attorney in your town or county could sit down with you to discuss the case, look at the court file, and meet with the County Attorney.
