Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Iowa

If a 15 year old runs away with an 18 year old but told him that he/she was 18 years old as well but then finally came clean about his/her age and they are no longer together if the actual 18 year old is charged with anything due to the running away of the underage teen, is the case beatable in a courtroom?

Depends on what they're charged with, right? Although I can tell you that 'she looked like she was 30' is not a viable defense.
