I recently plead gulity to a DWI 1st offense in Iowa. I did not take the breathalayzer test. I have been informed that by the DOT that I cannot aquire a work permit for 90 days. My current employer will likely fire me if I cannot get a work permit. They are willing to sign the form so why does the DOT have the right to dictate whether I have a job or not. In addition, I will likely get denied unemployment benefits because of these circumstances.
Thanks

Legally speaking I do not think there is much that you can do about this.
