My boyfriend was very drunk one night, and hit a parked car. He then drove away. He got picked up for drunk driving about 20 minutes later. I bailed him out of jail the next morning. I dont want him to go back to jail, and I need advice on what to do for him. He means alot to me, and I refuse to see him back in jail. No one was injured, and just a bumper was ruined on the parked car. Thank you for your time.

Well, there's very little you can do for him....he must do it himself. Your refusal to see him back in jail is not going to affect the situation one way or the other, because it is controlled by what he did and what the ultimate disposition of his case is. It does not matter a bit if no one was injured. If he pleads or is convicted of DUI there is a minimum amout of jail time he must do that is not negotiable. First offense is two days, second offense is 7 days, and if it's a third offense he will be doing some time possibly in Fort Des Moines. There are alos substantial fines and surcharges to be dealt with.
