Statute of Limitations - OWI
I was in a car accident a year and a half ago and resulted in a OWI through only the DOT, I was never criminally charged until now. Its been over 18 months since the date of the incident and I now have a letter with a court date showing up. Is there a length of time they can't bring charges against you any longer, for example one year?

Re: Statute of Limitations - OWI
If you were not charged at the time or arrested then the charges may be filed until 3 years after the crime. If you were arraigned the state must prosecute you within one year.
