Legal Question in Education Law in Iowa
College Policy Compliance
I attend a small liberal arts college
whose policy is that I must live in
expensive student housing until I
turn 22 or get married. Why am I
legally obligated to allow the college
to dictate my housing?
Thanks very much

Re: College Policy Compliance
Since it is a private school, it can contract with you to require on-campus residency. There are likely good pedagogical reasons as well as financial ones for the college. You may try negotiating with administration off-campus residency if it is a hardship for you.
