Legal Question in Education Law in Iowa
Here is a question that came up in the teacher's lounge.
Parents are able to request that their children's picture in not put
in the yearbook. Does a staff person have the right to request that
their picture is not included in the yearbook. Some staff said yes,
others no, that it is for the kids and the advisor can include any
pictures of staff that he wants. Also, what if you ask not to be
included and it is put in anyway.
I said I would email your office and get a ruling. What is the
procedure for opting out if there is one. Thank-you.

That would be up to the people who run the school, and whether your union contract says anything about it. Of course, if you don't have a union contract, nothing can be done legally speaking.
