Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa
I sent my 2 children to live with their father for just under 2 months. And sent all of their belongings with them ie: clothing, shoes, school supplies and musical instruments ect. Now that the children are back in my care their father refuse a to return their belongings. I am unsure weather I can have the police help me get their belonging back from the father or if I would have to file a small claims lawsuit against their father in order to recuperate their lost possesions.

As a practical matter there's not much you can do. What you're suggesting would unduly complicate any agreement you might have concerning your children. What is your arrangement, i.e., is there a custody and support agreement in place and are you represented by an attorney?
