Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa
my ex and i have 3 children together the older 2 he has custy and i have custody ofthe youngest. i live in california he lives in iowa, every summer i send the youngest out to iowa for a 6 week visit at the end of the 6 weeks all three come to california after 6 weeks the two oldest return to iowa, this summer i sent the youngest to iowa for his 6 week visit only to find out that my ex has been incarcerated for manufacturing meth.he was given 3-25yrs state time. my custody papers from iowa courts state that when either parent go's to jail for more than 5 days they are to be returned to the other parent not in jail. but i've learned that i can not get my youngest back because the children are now in juvenile courts custody but my custody papers from 2010 state different no one tried to even contact me about the situation so that i could even have a chance to go get my children. please help me is there anything i can do or what can i do about this

It sounds like the child is the subject of DHS involvement, most likely because of drugs in the home and that trumps any papers you may have to the contrary. You'll have to deal with DHS.
