Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa
My 13 year old daughter would like to get a lawyer to change custody between her father and I. She feels uncomfortable the her fathers and would like to live with me full time. He agrees to after he moves outta state which could be another 7 years. My son, 10, would also like to move in full time with me. My ex-husband tells my son to do things he know are wrong but does because he feels he has to.
I cannot afford a lawyer. What can she or I do?

I don't see how you can do that without legal assistance. Check with the bar association-they have a volunteer lawyer's project that may be able to help. I can tell you that from what you've told me the chances are slim.
