Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

Assets not in Settlement/Custody Agreement

My partner and I just ended our 11 year relationship. We have an adopted child together.

I am having to purchase a new bed, dresser, bedroom desk, etc. for our daughter at my new house. My ex is keeping all of the other furniture used by and only my daughter (bed, dresser, playroom furniture, etc.) that we bought together at her house.

Is it too late to ask her to pay for half of these new expenses for our daughter that I have to pay for in my new house? It doesn't seem fair that she is keeping everything and doesn't have to pay 1/2 for new necessities for our daughter at the new house. This issue was unfortunately inadvertently omitted in the Settlement/Custody Agreement. We agreed to pay 50/50 on our child's other expenses (medical, clothing, sports, school, etc.).

Please advise.

Re: Assets not in Settlement/Custody Agreement

You can always go back to court and try and modify the agreement.
