Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa
My boyfriend and I had a child 2 years ago. Recently he broke up with me, threatened me that he was going to take her. He is always telling me I am a bad mother, using our daughter against me, and taking money that I need to get diapers, milk or clothes and using it for his games or other miscellaneous items. I decided to move back in with my family and I took our daughter with me. Now I am trying to get custody and get child support from him. He also has 2 other children he pays on and does not have custody of them either. He also has some fraud, drug, and abuse on his record. Would I have to get a lawyer to help me sort out all the details and help me get custody or can i go about this in a different way to ensure i get custody of our daughter? Also, will I have to worry that he is going to get custody over her than me?

Get an attorney and get a custody and support order in place. Until you do that his rights are as good as yours.
