Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

My boyfriend split from his ex after losing their first child they reconnected feb 14th about 4 months after their split 6 yrs ago a month later she told him she was pregnant had the child aug. 3rd at 8 lbs 4 oz when he was told she was pregnant he went back to try and make it work and I believe because of pain losing their first he signed the affidative now he pays child support and she refuses to let him see the child and refuses to let him get a paternity test done we don't have the money for a lawyer to get a court order we don't know what to do its a lot of money taken away every month from our family if she lied about him being the father

Get a lawyer and do a paternity test. He needs a custody and support order and he's going to have to pay for an attorney.
