Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa
My brother and his girlfriend are recovering alcoholics. They went to a bar several weeks ago and got drunk and got into a fight with each other. She got a no-contact order on him and later tried to cancel it, She was told she couldn't. They were living in a half way house, but were kicked out, and have been living with me for the past couple of weeks. They just told me they have a court date for the no-contact order the first week of August. They are worried that since they have been living together, that they could go to jail for being together. Could they? And can I get into trouble for my putting them up.

What happens to them relative to the no contact order is their legal problem and not yours. I've not yet encountered an accessory case over a no contact order but it's possible you could be held in contempt for facilitating a violation of a court order.
