name change petition
I am in the process of changin my last name for personal reasons and I was told by the clerk of court that I need to get the iowa code on name change and write a petition with the correct info. I have to code, now I need to know if there is a particular way that I need to write this petition. Is writing a petition simply a business letter or is there a standard format I need to follow when writing a petition?

Each court has a format in which a petition must be written. I suggest that you first find a sample petition and follow the format closely or consult a local attorney in your area for more direction on how to proceed.
