Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

child custody

I have been divorced for 6 1/2 years. I have custody of my 2 minor daughters. My ex- husband recently filed papers to try to get custody of the girls. I have done absolutely nothing to justify having them removed from my custody and I was wondering what chance he would have to get this reversed.

Re: child custody

He's got a pretty high mountain to climb to get custody from you. Usually the courts will not change custodial arrangements absent some truly significant adverse circumstances in the home. That does not, of course, mean you shouldn't be prepared to defend your rights.
