Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

Child Custody and Moving

My ex-husband and I currently have joint legal custody of our daughter and I have primary physical custody. I am considering getting married and moving out of state and possibly to the carribean where my boyfriend currently lives. There is nothing in my divorce decree that says that I cannot move or even that I must inform my ex if I plan on doing so. My question is can I move without it being charged with kidnapping or can a judge tell me that I cannot take her with me when I move? I understand that obviously visitation would have to change and such.

Re: Child Custody and Moving

Anything that changes the terms and conditions of the custody agreement-such as a change in visitation-must be approved by the court.
