Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

Child Support Hearing

My ex is contesting child support and has requested a hearing. A court date has been scheduled but it is in Arizona and I live in Iowa. Is there a way that I will not have to appear in person at the hearing since it will create a financial hardship for my family?? I was served on 2/24/07 and the hearing is on 4/10/07 so I do not have much time. I am confident that he will not prevail but do you recommend an attorney assist me with this situation? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Re: Child Support Hearing

I'd say yes, get an attorney, and you ought to be able to appear by telephone. Make sure you ask for this.
