Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

child support

i live in california. i am paying child support in iowa, scott county and my child is 19. i want to get this stopped but dont know how to do it. do i need to contact a lawyer in iowa or can i find a lawyer in cali to do it.

You have not said whether you are paying through the CSRU or otherwise, or whether you are obliged to support the child thru college. You would need an attorney in Iowa to draft and file the appropriate motion. Assuming that you do not have any arrearage and your agreement does not envision educational support this is a fairly simple matter.
