Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa
Child Visitation
My daughter is 8 years old and her biological father has never met her. We were never married so hence never divorced. We have no child custody implimented as I have always raised her myself. Suddenly he wants to have visitation rights and she does not want to have anything to do with him. In the state of Iowa, just because you pay child support does not mean you have automatic visitation rights. Am I required to let him have visitations with her, or can I refuse?

Re: Child Visitation
As long as there's no court order on custody and visitation in place, you can do as you please. However, when he goes to court as he likely will, your refusal to be reasonable will weigh against you.
