Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa
My ex and I have two children together. We have joint custody with visitation for him every other weekend. He has been ordered to pay support but has not done so for the past 6months. I am not aware of where he resides so I am worried about where my kids are when they visit. While I was with him, he was very heavy into smoking marijauna. I do not know if he still does. My question is, am I able to keep him from seeing them since he has not given me his address, i have asked many times for it, or at least meke him meet me in my home town for pickup/drop off of the kids for his weekends since he wont give me his address. We have had a protective order in the past due to it being a domestic abuse situation when we broke up.

The answer is no, you cannot act unilaterally here. All you have at this point is suspicion. On the other hand, if he's not paying support that's a violation of the custody and support agreement.
