Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa
So, my child's biological father is not in the picture. He hasn't been since I had found out I was pregnant. We just quit speaking, I would like to know how to obtain full custody, primary caretaker, or whatever it takes so that if one day he does pop back up, he won't have any rights and be able to take my child. I can't afford to be legally fighting him. But I do want to know; what are my options? (There has been no child support or visitation/contact in almost 2 years, if that makes a difference)

It does. You need the services of an attorney to start the process of getting a custody and support order into place.
