Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

Do we have to go right into getting someone in contempt of court because she keeps denying child visitation, to the point when it's time to pick up the child she isn't home. I feel she is doing this to avoid us all together, or could we request full custody?

That's something you are going to need to use your attorney to handle. You've got to start by formally attempting to enforce the custody and support order which you presumably have.
