Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

cost of post secondary education and divorce

My son and daughter are graduating high school. Their father and I now live in Iowa but we were divorced in Florida. The divorce makes no provisions for paying for college and the father has just filed a law suit demanding that I pay 1/3 of their college expenses-I cannot afford an attorney-am I liable for their education costs?

Although the Iowa court has jurisdiction you can make a good argument that Florida law should control, and this site should prove interesting.

Unless you want to be saddled with this you had best find yourself some sort of legal representation.
