Custody Question

My daughter is almost 3. Her father has not wanted anything to do with her since she was born. He does pay child support. Over the summer, he contacted me asking to see her. I agreed telling him that it would be under my rules. I told him that either me or somebody else would be present at these meetings. He met with her once a week for about a month. Then he stopped calling to see her. I told him from the beginning that he would not be coming in and out of her life and if he wanted to spend time with her by himself that he would have to prove to me that he was in it for good. (He would always ask me to drop her off at his house and I refused because I don't trust him.) After about a month of seeing her, he stopped calling me. It has been 4 months and he calls me up again asking to see her. I told him that I already gave him his chance and that he blew it and he did exactly what I thought he would. He gave me some lame excuse about he was busy and didn't have time to see her but he wants to now. I don't want to give him another chance because I know he will do it again. Now I am afraid that he may take me to court and fight for some kind of custody. He only wants her so he won't have to pay child support. What should I do?

Re: Custody Question

Do you have a custody and support agreement in place?

If you do, I suggest you hire an attorney and enforce it.
