Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

custody schedule change due to relocation.

My ex of 2 years and I have a 4 yr old and currently have split custody. I have her on Mondays and Wednesdays and he has her on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Every other weekend I have her Friday and Sunday and he has her Saturday, vise versa. So, basically we each have her every other day. We currently live 4 miles apart, which makes this possible. I am in a steady relationship with someone that lives 50 miles away. I am planning on moving in with him and would like to keep the weekdays the same (I will bring her and pick her up from school/daycare as usual) but I would like to change the weekend schedule to having her every other weekend instead of switching her every Saturday and Sunday. This seems very reasonable to me, but my ex doesn't agree...he wants to see her everyday and doesn't like the fact of not seeing her from Friday morning til Tuesday. How can we make this work? And if this did go to court, what would happen.

Re: custody schedule change due to relocation.

If you want to change an existing custody and support agreement you must go to court, if you expect to make it stick. It's that simple. What's reasonable to you is apparently not reasonable to the other party.
