Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa
Who is right?
My Daughter lives with her father we have joint custody she is 7 years old My mother has grandparents rights. My mother gets here 1 thursday a month and overnight a month and 1 week in the summer. Both he and I signed an agreement in court for her grandparebts rights Now he keeps denying my mothers visitation. I get my daughter every other weekend 4 weeks out of the summer and every wensday for 3 hours. He has also denyed my wensdays. and My mother had her for her week on my weekend does grandparents rights overrule my scheduled visitation? I like to spend as much time with my daughter
as possible since she doesnot live with me also at 7 is she old enough to decide if she rather not visit me? On wensdays her dad has been promising her to do things with her they dont normally do. So she calls and tells me she dosent want to come but hes in the background telling her what tosay. Im confused. Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

Re: Who is right?
Your remedy is most likely a contempt action. If the Court approved a specific visitation plan then that plan is a court order. You might want to contact an attorney. While you are at it, you might want to find out if your state allows for one party consent on taping conversations. I know in Ohio and under federal law, if one party to conversation consents, you may tape record the conversation. Some states don't allow this. But if yours does, I suggest you think about taping those conversations. If he is making plans knowing that they conflict with a court ordered visitation arrangment, that could be very compelling proof.
