Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

Daughter living at my sisters

Hello. In december I allowed my daughter to live with my mother temporarily, In Febuary I was seeing changes I didnt like in my daughter so I told her she was coming home. She refused and now my family is against me getting her back. I have a lawyer but he is uselss. He told me that I could not just go to my moms house and get her but I could go to my daughters school, unenroll her and take her home from there. I got custody of my daughter and have it written in my divorce decree, so I need to know if I take that, and the school tries to cause problems, like calling the police, if my paperwork will be enough to be able to take her out of school and bring her home with me.

I would follow the advice of your lawyer. If you think he's useless get another. It's been my observation that many complaints originate because the lawyer doesn't tell people what they want to hear.
