Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

My daughter has been raising my soon to be 7 year old granddaughter very well. My granddaughter's father has mostly been involved and has paid his child support ever since it has been garnished from his wages. Now his child support is being increased and wham, all of a sudden, he wants full custody. His family is wealthy and well, our family is rather poor. They have been to court twice in the last 6 months. The first time she had an attorney and I helped her with the fees, but I can't keep matching their trips to the courts. The next time my daughter went on her own. She just received another notice for court and we're just baffled about how we're going to keep fighting this. What does a person do when they can't afford an attorney in a domestic case? Obviously, things have been going her way, but that element of fear is there.

You can contact the Iowa State Bar Association and see whether they can provide a low cost or pro bono referral through the volunteer lawyer's project-also the legal aid society, also the legal clinics operated by Drake, the U of Iowa or Creighton.
