Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa
My daughter is visiting her father. We have nothing in writing through the courts for visitation but I have been nice and let both of our children see him. My daughter called me tonight for four hours crying because her dad left her with someone while he went out. She was told to go down to the basement bedroom and sleep and was scared. She tried to contact her dad for hours and he wouldn't answer his phone. She called me and said she wanted to come home. When I finally contacted her dad he said that she wasn't coming home and wouldn't give me the address on where he is so I can pick her up. Both children have lived with me for seven and half years, and have visited their day twice a year if they are lucky. We had a no contact order in place for a year because he has been abusive to me and temporary visitation was set at that time but only seen them twice for visitation in that year. I provide for them for the past 7 years fully without him. How can I get my daughter back if I don't know an address.

I don't know where she is either. Maybe next time she calls you ought to ask where she is.
As a practical matter you now need to hire an attorney and get a custody and support order in place-that is all you can do.
