Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

Decreasing Visitation

Three yrs. ago my ex was court ordered to have our 6 kids for 122 days of visitation each yr. Now, on his own, he has decided that he will have them for less than 90 days. Can I force him to have 122 days? Can I ask for more child support for the extra days I have the kids? Can I ask the court to appoint a parent coordinator so these ''one-sided'' decisions will stop? Thank you for listening.

Re: Decreasing Visitation

Your remedy is to petition the court to enforce or modify the divorce decree. I do not see how you could force him to take the kids. Child support is not pegged to the number of days each parent has the children, it's based on income and who has physical custody.

I do not see where a court could appoint a parent coordinator-I am not familiar with that.
