Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa
Divorce
Can husband tell creditors to seek payment from soon-to-be ex-wife, for all bills with her mailing address listed? Even if he is the one who obtained the loan/credit account , etc.? He has established separate residence, but the children are living with her in the original house. He is trying to walk away from past debt, including a massive 1st and 2nd mortgage and sizeable credit card debt.

Re: Divorce
He sure can. Whether they choose to do so is anyone's guess. All debts incurred during the course of the marriage are owned jointly by husband and wife, despite what you may have heard to the contrary.
