Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

divorce lawyer

Wife & I considering divorce. If we agree on value of assests and how property to be split can we use 1 attorney? Attorneys I have contacted (2) say we each need our own attorney, even if lawyer is technically working for one of us, the other spouse is not allowed to sit in on meetings. We would like to use common lawyer more for mediator and do paperwork. Neither of us want to create animosity and run up big legal expenses. It seems to be simple arithmetic. Can this be done in Iowa? How to find such an attorney? (western Iowa)

Re: divorce lawyer
